Kelp forest resilience research in NORway & ICEland

P8200066_JPG.avif

With their pronounced space-for-time climate gradients, Norway and Iceland’s coastlines serve as powerful natural analogues for future high Arctic environments, and by comparing kelp forests in these regions we can differentiate climate-driven patterns from local-scale dynamics and improve predictions for future Arctic kelp forests. This project brings together an experienced, multi-national team to develop a robust, collaborative program aiming to uncover the processes shaping sub-Arctic kelp forests.
